An outline of Fr. General’s canonical visit to India District in formation.
Fr. General commenced his 12 days ’long Canonical visit to
the India district in formation on October 30 ,2011 and concluded on November
12,2011.
Here begins his tight schedule. On 31- 10- 2011: morning
Fr. General had a Meeting with the Archbishop of Trivandrum and on the same
day, he proceeded to Alleppey for the team meeting and to meet with the Bishop
of Alleppey thereafter, and stayed overnight at the Bodhi Institute of Theology
where two seminarians of our institute is doing Theology course. On Nov 1, he
met with the Rector of the Institute of Theology and both the theology students
of the institute. After that he proceeded to meet with the Bishop of Quilon and
had lunch with him. In the afternoon, Fr. General met with the two Voluntas Dei
priests in the parish which was allotted to the Voluntas Dei priests in the
diocese of Quilon, which was followed by the team meeting in the presbytery. After
the team meeting, Fr. General proceeded to meet with the Bishop of Punalur.

On 02th, morning, Fr. General visited the Bishop of
Neyyattinkara where four IVDei priests were working, and had team meeting with
the priests and married couples in the diocese.
On 03-11-2011 Fr. General stayed in Bethel seminary for the
meeting with the minor seminarians and the formators in Bethel, which was
followed by individual meeting with the IVDei
priests working in the Archdiocese of Trivandrum.
On 04-11-2011 early morning Fr. General departed to
Ernakulam by Train to meet with the Archbishop of Verapoly, the Rectors of the
major seminaries where the major seminarians are doing Philosophy and Theology
and to visit the major seminary of the institute in Alwaye where he had meeting
with the seminarians and the formators individually.
On 05th after noon, Fr. General visited a new team at
Kottappuram. After the team meeting he met with the Bishop of Kottappuram, and in
the evening he departed for Chennai.
On 06th, he participated in the Team meeting in
Valarpuram, Chennai, and had meeting with IVDei priests. In the evening, Fr.
General offered Holy Mass in Thekkalur parish which was allotted to the
institute in the diocese of Chennai.
On 07th, morning Fr. General visited Sacred
Heart Seminary where one of our seminarians is doing Theology. Then he visited
the Archbishop of Chennai and returned to Valarpuram to stay overnight.
On 08th, morning, he met with the Bishop of
Chengleput. In the evening, he travelled to Rameswaram to meet with the Bishop
of Sivagangai and for the team meeting in Rameswaram. After the team meeting in
Rameswaram, he returned to Trivandrum for the sector meeting and for the
priestly gathering.
On 10th, morning, he participated in the Trivandrum Sector
meeting, and after Lunch, he met with all the Voluntas Dei priests in Bethel. On
11th morning, he participated in the district in formation council meeting and concluded his successful canonical visit on
November 12th.
The maiden canonical visit of our Fr Director General brought
new life and vitality to the institute in India, to move forward, keeping in mind
the spirit behind founding the Secular Institute Voluntas Dei, by Rev Fr Louis-
Marie- Parent who is interceding for us in heaven.
